What is this website?

Hi. My name is Lauren.

I’m a holistic health coach in Houston, Texas who thrives on uplifting people — especially women — who struggle with their weight and want to learn to love themselves. I empower them to change their internal narrative through establishing routines of mindful self-care, intuitive eating and physical activity that’s actually, you know, fun.

“I worked with Lauren for 6 months on managing my stress levels, coping with life changes, my weight, and loving myself. I can say now that I feel so much better about myself than I have in years. I was able to learn new coping mechanisms, start new habits, and learn new ways to de-stress. Her conversational approach allowed me to really feel at ease in talking through my week’s highs and lows, and her unique perspective on my behaviors allowed us to come up with unique and tailored solutions that I felt comfortable implementing. I would highly recommend Lauren for all of your wellness needs.”

My Own Wellness Journey

I’ve battled with my health my entire life.

My first vivid memory of thinking I was “too fat” was in first grade. My first diet was in fifth.
And my first foray into eating disorders was in seventh.

From there, I also began to struggle with my mental health. For more than a decade, I wrestled with undiagnosed depression, anxiety, PTSD and body dysmorphia, always feeling like I had to go it alone. I let stigmas shame me into feeling like I couldn’t be open or ask for help. But, once I finally sought help — from my partner, my friends and my therapist — the world opened to me.

I’ve spent the past decade learning about health from a wellness perspective, instead of a fad diet or “get thin quick” perspective. (Though I still fell victim to quite a few of those traps.) And I’ve spent the last few years working on my health as a whole: nutrition, physical activity, relationships, creativity, joy, spirituality, creativity, finances and career.

Which led me here.

To you.

In the process of finding my own center, my own joy, my own health, I discovered a passion for helping others discover theirs.

Things I wish didn’t need to be said:

I believe in loving people. Regardless of race, gender, orientation, religion or anything else that might divide us. I believe that our differences are opportunities to learn from each other, and I’m learning every day. I do not tolerate or accept hate in any form, and have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination.
